Interoperability in focus at Digital First

The interoperability-focused work of the GIIG will be showcased at Digital First, the official Crown Commercial Service technology conference conference, in Manchester on 21 June 2023.

The event’s focus is on “Supporting the next generation of public services”, bringing together technology and technology procurement professionals from across government and the wider public sector to showcase best practice, exchange ideas, and promote discussion and debate

In a session chaired by Andrea Fitzgerald (Head of Region (South), Crown Commercial Service), Fiona Moore, Paul Wilkinson and Simon Lewis will be talking about the work of the GIIG (formerly the Government & Industry Interoperability Group). They will be highlighting the recently published Interoperability Code of Practice for Technologies and the GIIG’s work on procurement, including draft contract clauses and inputs to industry prequalification processes.

During the panel session, the concept of interoperability will be introduced, including how it can be used to improve the digital information management in the public sector and how new interoperability standards created by the GIIG will support interoperability via the procurement process.
