Thames Water Coppermills by MWH Treatment
Thames Water is the UK’s largest water company serving over 15 million customers. Coppermills is the third largest water treatment works serving 4 million customers. During certain times of the year its output is reduced by a third because of algal blooms as the existing Rapid Gravity Filters (RGF) are unable to cope with the filter-clogging algae. Any solution would be a challenge, as the site can only be accessed by narrow, residential roads, with very limited space for deliveries and material laydown.
