The Anglian region is one of the driest regions in the country. In the last twenty years the region’s population has grown by 20% to add to the water stress challenges, and the population is expected to grow further. There is also a need to protect the environment from over-abstraction and hence the 2025 vision is to deliver a large-scale, holistically linked water transfer resilience system. It will be operated, performance managed and maintained using advanced digital technology.
This is the third in a number of case studies that will track the progress of the SPA programme, taking ‘snapshots’ at appropriate milestones. This case study is the ‘SPA Control Strategy’.
