Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Pipeline and Digital Twin – SPA Digital Development Case Study (SPA2)
The Anglian region is one of the driest regions in the country. In the last twenty years the region’s population has grown by 20% to add to the water stress challenges, and the population is expected to grow further. With the need to protect the environment from over-abstraction the Company has the vision, by 2025 , to deliver a large-scale, holistically linked water transfer resilience system. It will be operated, performance managed and maintained using advanced digital technology. The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) programme will deliver elements of the Anglian Water Resource Management Plan. The SPA programme consists of up to 420km of pipeline, pumping stations, storage points and a Digital Twin.
This is the second, of a number of SPA case studies, that focuses on the SPA “Digital development”. There will be further case studies taking snapshots of the programme at appropriate milestones.
