Simon Lewis receives nima Outstanding Contribution Award
Construction law specialist Simon Lewis is the latest person to receive the nima Outstanding Contribution Award.
A partner in the Construction and Engineering team and chair of Building Safety Working Group at Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD), Simon received the award in a virtual presentation by nima chair Dr Anne Kemp OBE on 30 April 2026 – Simon’s final full working day before retiring from WBD and starting a six-month sabbatical from nima.

Anne thanked Simon for his many contributions to nima (until 2022 the UK BIM Alliance) and the GIIG over the past decade:
“Simon has been a unique, calm, level-headed and steadying force through many detailed conversations relating to information management in the built and managed environment. We were pleased to welcome him to the management team when nima was launched in October 2022, and he has been an invaluable source of advice to me, to other volunteers and to our non-executive directors. Simon also contributed greatly to the work of the GIIG, and was a key member of the working group that produced the interoperability code of practice for technology providers, published in April 2023. We thank him for all his contributions, and wish him well as he starts a well-deserved sabbatical.”
Simon said he was genuinely surprised to receive the award, and thanked his nima colleagues for the accolade, saying the organisation had come a long way in a relatively short space of time. He hoped his efforts had left it in a strong position to grow as a membership organisation and as the driving force behind the Information Management Initiative.
Previous recipients of the nima Oustanding Achievement Award include:
- Stephen Holmes (April 2024)
- John Hall (November 2024)
- Sarah Davidson (November 2025)
