nima to sponsor best digital team category at Digital Construction Awards 2026

nima is sponsoring a key category of the Digital Construction Awards 2026, which are currently open for entries. The entry deadline has just been extended to 7 November 2025.

The Awards are organised by the team behind the Digital Construction Week, Geo-Business and Digital Construction North events, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Building and Atom, publisher of Construction Management and Digital Construction Plus. They celebrate best practice and reward innovation in the application of BIM, information management and digital technology in the built and managed environments.

Shortlisted entrants will be revealed on 12 January 2026. Awards in 16 categories will be presented to the winners at a gala dinner in front of 400-plus of the sector’s leading lights on 18 March 2026 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London.

Digital Team of the Year

New for 2026, nima is sponsoring the “digital construction Oscar” for the Digital Team of the Year, seeing a synergy with the ongoing Information Management Initiative (IMI).

The award category recognises teams driving digital transformation and/or information management best practice within their businesses. It could be a team working on the design, construction, operation or maintenance of a built asset, or could be a team driving digital transformation within their organisation. Judges will be looking for teams that, by working together, successfully deliver against measurable business targets.

Chair of nima Anne Kemp says:

This award category fits strongly with the objectives of the nima-led Information Management Initiative. The IMI invites organisations to sign up to some over-arching principles, create an organisation-wide mandate regarding information management principles, and set out their desired business outcomes.

“Our early IMI signatories are leading by example, mandating the IMI to their own people, seeking to achieve compliance with its principles and push the sector forward. Being an IMI signatory is not a requirement of the award category, but we hope signatory businesses will grab the opportunity to be recognised for driving digital change across their organisations. Equally, entrants in this Digital Construction Award category might also wish to become IMI signatories – recognising the close fit between the category and IMI aims.”
