nima launches discounts for bulk membership purchases
nima has made it easier for organisations to purchase discounted memberships for multiple team members.
nima launched its membership programme in May 2025 (news), and – helped by promotion at Digital Construction Week in London in June – membership has grown to over 160 in less than four months. To help accelerate growth, and to accommodate organisations wanting to offer nima subscriptions to their internal teams, a bulk membership facility has been added. Discounts are also available for organisations buying 5+ or 25+ membership subscriptions.
nima vice chair for members (news), Mostafa Elashmawy, says:
“Since becoming a nima vice chair in July, I have been keen to make it easier for organisations to enrol their people as nima members. While many individuals are happy to pay £35 for their own membership (sometimes reclaiming the modest cost through expense claims), others wanted their employers to directly purchase membership for them.
“Through the nima website, organisations can now purchase memberships on behalf of multiple named employees in a single transaction. If they purchase five or more, or 25 or more, discounts are applied, recognising the reduced administration costs. We then add the individuals to our member database and they start to share all the standard membership benefits – recognition as a nima supporter, polling on industry policy issues, etc.
“We will shortly be launching our next members’ poll, and also fulfilling our promise to offer members-only online discussion forums where people can discuss information management-related issues, ask questions, provide advice, etc.”
Longer-term, nima aims to become a chartered membership body representing information management practitioners in the built and managed environment. Depending upon members’ needs, activities may include developing a body of knowledge, a code of conduct, continual professional development (CPD) activities, certification, measurement of IM capabilities, etc.
