nima chair Anne Kemp receives Joan Cave Memorial Trophy for her 2025 John O’Groats marathon
Some eight months after completing a 101-day, 1,350-mile charity walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats (June 2025 news), nima chair Anne Kemp has been presented with The Joan Cave Memorial Trophy by the Land’s End – John O’Groats Association.
The award is for people aged over 50 who complete an supported journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats (or vice versa) on foot or by bicycle, particularly if it demonstrates a particular effort in the face of physical or other infirmity.
The Association’s committee also gives consideration to any sums raised for charity – Anne was walking in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, and successfully raised over £21,500 (£17,538.72, plus £3,964.88 via Gift Aid).
