John Hall receives nima award
John Hall is the latest recipient of the nima Outstanding Contribution Award. A volunteer who has contributed extensively to nima, particularly since it rebranded from the UK BIM Alliance in October 2022, John’s honour was announced at nima’s Autumn Virtual Conference 2024 on 7 November.
The virtual presentation to John was made by nima chairman Anne Kemp during her concluding remarks. She publicly thanked John for his work in helping develop nima’s backroom operational IT systems, including work on Microsoft Teams and Salesforce – all managed alongside John’s full-time consultancy work as managing director of INFENG and as a member of nima’s consultancy arm, the GIIG.
John thanked Anne and the nima community for the award, recalling how he started in the engineering field as a draughtsman before beginning to specialise in information management.
The inaugural nima Outstanding Contribution Award was given to Stephen Holmes in April 2024 (news).
