IMI endorsed by IM4 Public Sector group
IM4 Public Sector (IM4PS), a group of key information management practitioners in the public sector, has endorsed the aims and objectives of the Information Management Initiative (IMI), launched by nima and the Construction Leadership Council in November 2024 (news).

The Information Management for Public Sector (IM4PS) group comprises key individuals who have been leading the way in embracing best practice for information management for the natural and built environment in their respective organisations across the public sector.
The group has been developing and sharing best practice for over 10 years extending from the 2016 BIM Level 2 Mandate to the current standing IM Mandate cited in the IPA’s Transforming Infrastructure Performance: Roadmap to 2030, the HM Government Construction Playbook (September 2022) and the private sector construction playbook, Trust and Productivity (November 2022).
As a group, IM4PS endorses the aims and objectives of the Information Management Initiative. The group would urge their supply chains to engage with and sign up to the IMI, and in doing so, realise the benefits to their organisations and demonstrate their commitment to improving information management.
Chair of the IM4PS group, Karen Alford of the Environment Agency, says:
“Government clients have been at the forefront of advancing standard methods in how information is managed across the asset lifecycle. Transforming an industry is no small feat, but through collaboration, collectively we’ve demonstrated how these approaches are foundational to deliver digital transformation including the application of artificial intelligence.”
