Helping SMEs in the built environment apply key AI standards

BSI and nima are co-hosting a webinar to support SMEs in the built environment sector that are adopting or developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

The hour-long online session – at 1pm GMT on Wednesday 11 February 2026 – will introduce the BridgeAI programme and the support available to SMEs. It will explore key standards, including PAS 1958 (Data and Information Standards Landscape), ISO 56001 (Innovation Management System), and ISO 42001 (AI Management System), and discuss how these standards can be applied in practice.

The primary aim of the webinar is to increase awareness among SMEs in the built environment sector of the international and national standards that shape the UK’s approach to developing and adopting AI solutions. Attendees will:

  • Learn how the Innovate UK BridgeAI programme can support people who are exploring or already using AI in their work
  • Gain a clearer understanding of how AI and innovation standards such as ISO 56001 and ISO 42001 relate to digital, data and information management practice
  • Understand what PAS 1958 is, why it was developed (involving nima – see 15 September 2025 news), and how it supports consistent data and information management across the digital built environment
  • Hear directly from SMEs in the sector about how BridgeAI support and standards adoption have helped them in practice
  • Discover practical tools, guidance and resources available through the BridgeAI standards community
  • Be able to ask questions, share challenges and learn from peers facing similar issues

Key speaker details and the agenda for the session will be available shortly.
