BIM4Rail webinar: Blockchain, IMI
The January 2025 BIM4Rail webinar on 30 January will feature two presentations.
In collaboration with UCL’s Construction Blockchain Consortium, the first session will examine how BIM (Building Information Modelling) and blockchain technology can address some of the key challenges in rail asset management, such as data transparency, interoperability, and lifecycle cost management. Attendees will hear about UCL’s work in integrating these technologies for more effective data management in rail infrastructure. Topics will include using BIM for collaborative digital models, applying blockchain to secure and synchronize data across project teams, and examples of how these tools can support long-term asset performance and cost efficiency.
The second session will hear about the Information Management Initiative, the updated approach to information management in the UK built environment, currently being developed by the Construction Leadership Council and nima (formerly the UK BIM Alliance).
