PANEL: What should nima do to help educate people about information management and who should they educate first?

nima Virtual Conference 2025 / Kay Rogage

Kay Rogage

Associate Professor, Northumbria University

My research focuses on the design of interactive computational technologies for the built environment. I am particularly interested in the ways which digital technology design can support user experiences for interacting with buildings and urban spaces. My research interests are in designing for smart buildings, smart cities, digital twins and digital living. With international reach, my research involves working with a range of organisations such as helping major contractors apply AI to improve onsite construction processes, to helping heritage organisations digitise both historical collections alongside their physical estates. I regularly speak out on panels around topics to do with digitisation of the built environment and I am an advocate of promoting women in engineering. I also lecture in a range of subjects around cloud computing, IoT, modern web technologies, data science and software development.
