Anna Scothern is the Chief Executive of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC), the UK’s leading organisation championing excellence in home improvement. Under her leadership, the NHIC has become a powerful voice for the sector, influencing policy, driving industry collaboration, and advancing consumer confidence in sustainable and high-quality home improvements.
Anna also plays a national leadership role in construction and home improvement as Chair of the Construction Leadership Council’s Domestic Repair, Maintenance, and Improvement (RMI) Taskforce and the Digital Work-stream, while also serving as a core contributor to the Construction Skills Mission Board. Through these roles, she helps shape policy and partnerships that strengthen workforce competence, drive energy efficiency, and ensure consumer protection remains front and centre, while advancing the sector’s digital transformation to enhance productivity, innovation, and sustainability.
With extensive experience in construction and home improvement, Anna is
passionate about creating inclusive spaces and fostering collaboration to tackle pressing industry issues such as decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and consumer protection. A passionate advocate for inclusion and collaboration, she brings a values-led, practical approach to building a safer, smarter, and more confident future for the industry. She is also a dedicated advocate for empowering women in leadership roles and breaking down barriers in traditionally male-dominated industries.
