BIM4Water hosts successful London summer event
BIM4Water hosted their Summer Event on Thursday 25 September 2025, focused on the critical topic of securing the water sector’s digital infrastructure. The event, sponsored by Procore Technologies and titled Beyond the Firewall: Delivering water sector reform through AMP8, explored the challenges and solutions in balancing data access with robust protection.
The morning session, held aboard an Uber Freight Boat by Thames Clippers, featured a series of sprint talks and a keynote by Lt. Col. Dr. Darren Mann. Discussions covered regulatory perspectives on cyber resilience from Ofwat, lessons from the nuclear and defence sectors, and the importance of cybersecurity in data sharing for asset management.
The afternoon session at Horniman at Hays continued the conversation with a focus on asset information, securing operational technology, and building a secure central data office. The day concluded with a series of talks on upskilling teams in data and AI, and the future of open data and applied ethics in artificial intelligence.
This event was essential for professionals in the water sector looking to understand how to build resilient assets, protect critical national infrastructure from vulnerabilities, and meet the new cybersecurity challenges assessed by regulators.
