DIGITAL WALES – November 2023
Another joint event between nima Wales and Constructing Excellence Wales, this event included presentations from regional award winners Bouygues on how they used information management to deliver passive fire protection (Twitter).
THE DIGITAL STRATEGY FOR WALES – October 2022
Following a welcome and introduction by Rhys Lewis, Dan Rossiter gave an outline of the UK BIM Framework and related standards. This was followed by Michael Groves of the Welsh Government presenting the Digital Strategy for Wales and Catherine Griffith-Williams with an overview of CEW and Digital Constructing Excellence. The afternoon ended with the presentation of the Fitzallan High School case study by Russell Baker & Andy Miles from Kier and Julie Homes of Cardiff Council. DELIVERING DIGITAL VALUE – WITH CIOB
Presenters included Gavin Traylor, a lecturer from UWTSD who takes us back to the basics followed by Mike Ford from Ridge & Partners who shared their strategic approach and as previous events Gerald Naylor hosted a roundtable at the end. View the recording here.
COLLABORATION IS KEY – WITH CIOB
The first in a series of events with CIOB Wales. The theme of this one was Collaboration and the event started with a short presentation from Rhys Lewis, co-chair of UKBIMA Wales followed by briefing from Nigel Davies about the Back to BIM Basics campaign being delivered by the UK BIM Alliance. BIM Manager Ian Massey then talked through the approach that Bouygues had followed by a round table discussion led by Gerald Naylor. View the recording here.
