100,000 views of UK BIM Framework since June 2024 revamp

Less than six months after its June 2024 upgrade, the improved UK BIM Framework has received over 100,000 views.

The Framework’s latest major update was launched to coincide with Digital Construction Week in London on 5-6 June 2024, and incorporated several improvements, including enhanced presentation, navigation and search facilities – including an artificial intelligence (AI) capability – to improve the user experience.

The free online resource (at www.ukbimframework.org/) is developed and maintained by nima and BSI. It sets out standards, guidance, checklists and FAQs to help UK individuals and organisations understand the fundamental principles of information management using BIM.

The Framework is recommended in UK Government construction strategy documents including the Construction Playbook and the TIP Roadmap to 2030, and – following the 7 November 2024 launch of the Information Management Initiative (IMI; see news) – will be developed as the ‘IMI Framework’ to become a cornerstone of the IMI’s support resources.
